This delightful treat will take care of your sweet cravings and it's absolutely heaven if you pair it with a nice cup of coffee, tea or milk.
My daughter and I love cooking and baking together, it's a nice bonding activity that is also educational and fun.
“No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.” - Julia Child
For this recipe you will need:
2½ cups flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 TBS Greek style yogurt. (I use Greek Gods with honey)
1 tsp vanilla extract
For The Frosting:
5 TBS butter, softened
3 TBS Mango Kefir
1 TBS vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
3-5 drops food coloring
You can add sprinkles
In a medium sized bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream your butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add your egg, yogurt and vanilla and mix it till combined.
Add your flour mixture little by little while stirring until everything is combined. (it will be crumbly).
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Pour the batter into a greased 9" x 13" baking dish and spread it out evenly with the help of a spatula.
Bake for about 15 to 17 minutes or until edges are barely golden. Do not overbake.
Let it cool completely.
Mix all your frosting ingredients until creamy.
Add drops of food coloring (not too many)
Decorate your sugar cookie bars with the frosting and you can add sprinkles. I let my daughter decorate to her heart's content.
Cut into squares and enjoy! :)
I hope you have fun making them. :0)
